What is it prescribed for?

Astropod 200MG contain cefpodoxime which belongs to a group of medicine called cephalosporin antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as nose, sinuses (such as sinusitis), throat (such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis), chest and lungs (such as bronchitis, pneumonia), skin (such as an abscess, ulcer, infected wound, inflamed hair follicles, carbuncles, furuncles, infections around the fingernails, a type of skin infection called cellulitis), urinary system (such as cystitis, and kidney infections), sexually transmitted infection, gonorrhoea.

The common side effects are diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting, stomach pains, flatulence (passing wind), loss of appetite, headaches, dizziness, ringing in the ears, feeling tired or weak, itching skin without rash, pins and needles, numbness, or tingling feelings. Astropod 200MG can be taken with or without food. Try to take Astropod 200MG at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.
